Mechanical Engineering
Solidly grounded in first principles, our engineering team leverages decades of collective medical device design experience to solve a wide range of design challenges from complex capital equipment, to high-volume disposables.
Sunrise takes products from initial concept and prototyping through transfer to manufacturing. Our in-house capabilities include rapid prototyping and controlled builds for clinical trials. After years of successful product launches, our partnerships with contract manufacturers, including integrated processes, reduce risk and accelerate schedules. Sunrise will help you choose a contract manufacturer(s) that optimally matches your needs.

Revolutionizing Artificial Heart Drivers
Sunrise Labs partnered with a client to create a next-generation driver for their Total Artificial Heart system. Designed for portability and efficiency, the wearable driver featured advanced pneumatic systems, a touchscreen interface, and extended battery life. The innovative design prioritized patient mobility and comfort while maintaining stringent safety standards, providing a life-saving solution for patients awaiting transplants.
Automating Osmometry for High-Throughput Testing
To address the need for large-scale osmometry, Sunrise Labs developed an automated platform capable of conducting 1,000 tests without manual intervention. This system scaled the client’s existing technology by 5000%, allowing them to capture a new market segment. By integrating seamlessly with existing disposable components, the solution delivered high throughput with minimal user effort.
