Meet Our Newest Team Members

Sunrise Labs is celebrating 30 years of engineering excellence and continues to expand our team members and capabilities. Since January 2022 we’ve established a second office in Rhode Island and hired ten new employees, including four Program Managers to better serve our client’s programs.

Robert Bouthillier – Technical PM
Sr Director Southern New England Office

Bob has more than 30 years of experience in roles of increasing responsibility as an Electrical Engineer and Executive. Bob founded Design Net Technical Products in 1995 where he has developed technology-oriented products that include medical instruments, surgical vision systems, surgical lasers, patient monitoring systems, and wireless wearable medical and consumer products. He has led interdisciplinary teams with disciplines including Mechanical Design, Electronics, Embedded Software, and Machine Learning as the Director of Engineering for Jabil’s Radius Innovation Division. Bob studied Electrical Engineering and received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of RI and has continued his formal education in Machine Learning and AI system development through the Stanford University series taught by Andrew Ng.

Aaron Connor – Program Manager

Aaron has over a decade of experience leading product development efforts with a focus on safety-critical use cases in regulated industries. His experience includes concept to post-launch support of hardware and software products, predominantly in medical devices, broadcast cellular technologies, augmented reality, and healthcare information technology. Aaron’s background in intellectual property law and medical device regulatory practice allows him to apply a holistic development approach during commercialization. Aaron holds a Juris Doctorate from Boston University School of Law, a Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology and Physiology from Purdue University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Professional Writing from Purdue University.

Tom Vaillancourt headshot

Tom Vaillancourt – Principal Software Engineer & Program Manager

Tom has over 35 years of engineering experience. The first half of Tom’s career was in aerospace developing avionics software for spacecraft and various fixed and non-fixed-wing aircraft. Thereafter Tom made the jump to the internet and focused on enterprise applications in CRM, telecom, and health. More recently Tom has specialized in cloud-based streaming applications for IoT data. Tom has held various roles in development and architecture. He has managed teams and projects in India, China, and the US. Tom earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth.

Scott Wudyka headshot

Scott Wudyka – Program Manager

Scott has over 25 years of experience in leading medical device development for devices used in laboratories, medical practice, surgery, and the home.  His experience covers the full medical device product life cycle, primarily within large companies. Scott has developed devices for Laboratory Diagnostics, DVT Prophylaxis, Advanced Wound Care, Sinus Surgery, and Drug Infusion. Scott’s background in device development leadership spans electromechanical devices, air and fluid handling, embedded software, user interfaces, home-use devices, and medium to high-volume disposables.
