Principal Mechanical Engineer

Chuck has over 17 years of experience in the scientific equipment and medical device industries. He has designed X-Ray sensors and emitters, intra-oral video cameras, chemiluminescence and fluorescence imagers, and miniature analog controls. He developed algorithms for laying out illumination in 4000 square foot commercial greenhouses as well as the design of computer-controlled microscopes with 4.5-micron pixel images. He graduated in 1999 with a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from UC Berkeley and taught classes in new product development at both the HAAS school of business and the mechanical engineering department as a post-doc lecturer. Small changes in design can drive big savings for manufacturers, and his project experience shows his drive to reduce costs.
